The Wilted Flower Series: A Petal falls through time

The South African War of 1899-1902 had a major impact on the lives of all South Africans. Many history books have been written about it, but there has never been a book that introduced the war and its course on a child-friendly level. The Museum has therefore attempted to fill this gap with our new "Wilted Flower" book series, which tells the story of the war through children and their experiences, based on historical research.

 The colourfully illustrated book will introduce the war to children on a level of their understanding and will also cultivate a future interest in the war and in history in general. Not only is this book a first concerning a children's literature theme, it is also the first book about the war for children that is available in three languages namely Afrikaans, Sesotho and English

The series will consist out of 5 Volumes. Volume 1 is available.
